Create a Post

Create a polished storefront article with images, links, formatting, and vehicle cards.

Create a post for an article, announcement, review, story, or legal page. It starts as a Draft, so you can finish and review it before shoppers see it.

Before you start

  • Decide which dealership location owns the post.
  • Prepare a clear title and choose a category.
  • Gather images you have permission to publish.
  • Decide what you want the reader to learn or do.

Create the Draft

  1. Open Posts.
  2. Select Add Post.
  3. Choose a dealership location if asked.
  4. Select Create Post.

DealerSpot creates an Untitled Draft. If you already have unfinished posts, the window also lets you continue editing them.

Complete General

Open General and add the page details.

FieldWhat it controls
TitleThe main public heading
CategoryWhere the post appears on the storefront
SlugThe final part of the public page address
Navigation TitleA shorter label for the storefront header
DescriptionThe summary shown in previews
Post ImageThe main image shown with the post

Legal posts do not show Description or Post Image.

Turn on Navigation Title, enter a short label, and save. The storefront header can show up to three published posts with this option enabled.

Use Post Image to upload one image up to 8 MB. To replace it, remove the current image, upload the new one, and save.

Write the article in Content

Open Content to:

  • Format text and add headings, lists, quotes, or links
  • Add PNG, JPG, JPEG, GIF, or WebP images
  • Insert a vehicle card from Inventory
  • Undo or redo changes
  • Import or export Markdown

Images added with the toolbar can be up to 2 MB. Images pasted or dragged into the editor can be up to 5 MB. Use files under 2 MB when you want them to work with either method.

Add a vehicle card

  1. Place the cursor where you want the card.
  2. Select Add Vehicle.
  3. Search Inventory.
  4. Choose the vehicle.

The card copies the vehicle information available at that time. Check it again before publishing, especially if the listing has changed.

Import or export Markdown

  • Import Markdown replaces the current article with the text you paste.
  • Export Markdown downloads a copy of the current article.

Export a copy first if you may need to restore the current version.

Save and review

  1. Save the post.
  2. Reopen General and Content to confirm your changes.
  3. Check spelling, facts, links, images, and vehicle cards.
  4. Confirm the dealership location and public page address.
  5. Change the status to Published only when the page is ready.

Saving does not publish the post.

Check legal pages with qualified guidance

DealerSpot publishes the content you provide. It does not confirm that a Legal post meets a law, regulation, or dealership obligation.

Quick fixes

The page address is already in use

Change Slug to something unique for that dealership location, then save again.

An image is rejected

Check the file type and size. Featured images can be up to 8 MB. Toolbar images can be up to 2 MB, while pasted or dragged images can be up to 5 MB.

There is no Generate button

The post editor does not have an AI writing button. Use Ask Spot for drafting help, then paste or import the text after reviewing it.
